LilyMoo and other human rights activists are behind the organisation of a 15,000 strong demonstration in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 1 October.

Here you will find footage of the demonstration in Trafalgar Square.

Iranians across the globe started to spontaneously hold demonstrations in their cities from Tuesday 20 September.

As the movement in Iran grew and stayed persistent a global day of action for Iran was suggested by Iranian writer Hamed Esmaeilion.

This represented the largest demonstration of its kind to date as a number of other cities around the world also took part.

Iranian writer Hamed Esmaeilion posted on Instagram that protests are being planned in more than 100 cities globally.

His posts shared details of demonstrations planned across Europe, North and South America and in other regions.

After the murder of Mahsa Amini in Tehran by the hands of the Morality Police aka fashion police in Tehran an uprising lead by women in protest of this brutal act against women by the Islamic Regime in Iran.

LilyMoo says their message is straight forward and strong: Woman! Life! Freedom!

“Mahsa Amini’s death sparked a revolution and this revolution must be recognised and supported by the International Community not silenced and ignored by those who decide what news is worthy news.

My question to the world is this! Are the women in the Middle East not as important as the women in the west?

Crimes against women anywhere is crime against women everywhere.”

Since the first demonstration, they have been going to demonstrate regularly at Trafalgar Square to sing songs of peace and solidarity with the Iranian people.

However, LilyMoo was disheartened at the lack of coverage these protests received in the mainstream media.

She stresses she represents something unique in terms of Iranian opposition, she terms what is happening in Iran at the moment as a revolution.

Despite this, she believes the mainstream media is trying to shut them up.

As a result of what she classes as misrepresentation they have instituted a boycott of the BBC.

Despite risk to herself she is comfortable being named.

She expects to organise future protests in London.

The next demonstration is organised for Saturday 8 October at 13:30. Trafalgar Square, London. Gathering point outside the entrance of the National Gallery.
