The accidental fish diet

When people talk about fad diets: was it an elaborate accident?

Ihave eaten a diet containing a high proportion of fish this week, much like last week and the week before… This is what I learned from this accidentally high fish intake…

The first thing I learned was it was a complete fluke, caused by the contents of my fridge.

Not really being able to stick to any kind of fixed diet I have a devil may care approach to food.

If it’s tasty, available and convenient chances are I will eat it.

This sounds beautifully indulgent when I express it this way, whereas in fact it is actually somewhat unexpectedly restrictive and dull.

I shop for the week in a slightly slap dash fashion and pick up mainly things for lunch, fish on toast, and simple dinners, breaded fish.

While pre-cooked chicken sometimes gets thrown in, this still leaves for a distinctly fishy fridge.

The result, a fishy diet.

I make sure to throw in some kind of carbohydrate and vegetables, but apart from eating out and that afore mentioned pre-cooked chicken, you could be forgiven for thinking I’m some kind of pescatarian.
